“Nigeria Is 65, Older Than My Husband” — Regina Daniels Reflects on Independence Day Memories
Nollywood star Regina Daniels joined in Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebrations with a heartfelt message and a touch of humor. The actress shared a video reflecting on her childhood memories of October 1st, recalling how the day once filled the streets with children dressed in green and white, proudly marching and singing the national anthem.
“Nigeria is 65. That’s a big number, older than my husband,” Daniels said with a laugh as she reminisced about those vibrant celebrations. She spoke fondly of the patriotic spirit of the era, describing how children would gather in their neighborhoods and schools, united by music, colors, and pride in their country.
The mother of two noted how special those moments were and expressed hope that the same spirit of joy and patriotism still lives on in today’s celebrations. In the same video, Daniels attempted to sing the national anthem herself, but humorously forgot the last lines, a lighthearted slip that many of her fans found relatable.
Her post quickly drew reactions online, with many applauding her nostalgic take on Independence Day and her playful honesty.
