NCos Transfers Bobrisky from Ikoyi to Kirikiri Prison
Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been transferred from the Ikoyi Correctional Center to the Kirikiri Prison, according to fresh reports. The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has quietly moved the embattled cross-dresser to the more expansive prison facility.
A reliable source within the NCS confirmed that Bobrisky’s transfer to Kirikiri took place over the weekend. “It is procedural to move him to Kirikiri, as it is a larger prison compared to Ikoyi,” the source explained. Okuneye’s transfer was carried out discreetly due to security concerns, the source added.
This move follows Bobrisky’s recent sentencing to a six-month jail term by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 12, 2024. Bobrisky was found guilty of abusing the Naira, and the judge expressed the hope that the sentence would deter others from similar actions.
Despite previous reports, Bobrisky is now being held in a male cell at Kirikiri Prison, as the court identified him as male during his admission. The source confirmed that Bobrisky will be treated like any other inmate during his time in prison.
