NCC Approves Partial Disconnection of Glo from Airtel
Subscribers on Glomobile network will no longer be able to make calls to subscribers on the Airtel network from October 28,2019 following the nonpayment of interconnect charges by the former.
In a statement issued by the Nigerian Communications Commission on Friday, titled ‘Pre-Disconnection Notice’, and signed by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs, Henry Nkemadu, the regulator said it has approved plans by Airtel to disconnect Glomobile after it was convinced that Glomobile has no reason not to offset the interconnect charges it owes Airtel.
However, the statement said it will allow subscribers on Glomobile network to receive calls from Airtel subscribers as the disconnection will only be a partial one.
