NCAA Reminds Passengers: Claim ₦10,000 If Your Luggage Is Delayed
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued a clear reminder to airline passengers: if your luggage doesn’t arrive on time, you are entitled to immediate compensation — and you should always ask for it.
In a video message posted on X, Michael Achimugu, Director of Consumer Protection at the NCAA, emphasized that passengers on domestic flights are entitled to ₦10,000 compensation when their bags are delayed. For international flights, the amount exceeds $100, and can go up to $170 if the airline fails to comply with NCAA regulations.
Achimugu highlighted that many Nigerian travelers remain unaware of this right, despite it being a legal obligation for airlines. He also advised passengers to arrive early for check-in and boarding to avoid complications. “Never be late,” he added.
