Native Doctor Kills Man in Failed Bulletproof Charm Trial
A native doctor in Bauchi State, identified as Danladi Ya’u from Damaiwa village in Bursali ward, is being pursued by the Bauchi Police Command after a bulletproof charm trial went terribly wrong, resulting in the tragic death of a man named Muhammadu Murtala Ali.
The Bauchi Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, revealed the harrowing details of the incident on Wednesday. According to SP Wakil, the ill-fated event occurred on October 31, 2023, at approximately 8:30 AM.
Danladi Ya’u, a 28-year-old native doctor, had reportedly joined forces with three other accomplices, who are currently on the run. Their intention was to test a purported “gun medicine” on Muhammadu Murtala Ali, a 43-year-old resident of the same Damaiwa village.
Regrettably, during the experiment in the Damaiwa bush, Muhammadu Murtala Ali suffered a grievous gunshot wound inflicted by the locally crafted firearm wielded by Danladi Ya’u.
Upon receiving this distressing report, a team of detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Zaki, promptly responded to the scene. They rushed the injured victim to the General Hospital in Jakusko, Yobe State, in an effort to provide medical assistance. Tragically, a medical doctor at the hospital confirmed Muhammadu Murtala Ali’s demise.
The Bauchi Police Command swiftly apprehended two suspects in connection with the incident, but their search for the remaining accomplices is ongoing. The police investigation is currently underway, and once completed, the accused individuals will be brought to justice in a court of law.
This shocking and tragic event serves as a grim reminder of the dangerous consequences that can arise from the misuse of traditional practices and superstitions.
