“My Instagram Account Was Created to Scam People” – Portable Confesses

Nigerian musician Portable has revealed that he originally created his Instagram account with the intention of scamming people. The controversial singer made the shocking confession while discussing the name ‘Elizabeth Joyce’ that appears on his Instagram profile.

Speaking in a car ride with content creator Egungun of Lagos, Portable was asked about the unusual name on his profile. In response, he admitted that he set up the account when he was trying to learn internet fraud, popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo, before achieving fame.

Portable explained that his plans did not work out as intended, and after gaining recognition, he decided to modify the account. He removed the foreign identity he had initially used upon realizing that people were searching for him online. “That was why I initially opened the account, but it didn’t work out. I later went back to edit the account and removed the foreigner’s picture from it when I heard that people were looking for me online because I had become successful,” he said.

The singer, who shot to fame in December 2021 with his hit song Zazoo Zeh, has remained a controversial figure in the Nigerian entertainment scene, frequently making headlines for his outspoken and sometimes provocative statements.
