My Economic Policies Are Yielding Results – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has announced that the economic policies implemented since the beginning of his administration are beginning to deliver the intended benefits.
Speaking at the 34th and 35th convocation ceremonies of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Tinubu, represented by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, highlighted that the nation’s economy is transitioning from a consumption-driven model to a production-based one. He acknowledged that the measures taken have been tough on citizens but emphasized that they were necessary to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
The President explained that strategic decisions, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates, were made to prevent the country’s collapse and secure a better future for the next generation. Tinubu expressed his awareness of the difficulties these policies have caused but reassured Nigerians that the economic situation is steadily improving.
According to Tinubu, both macroeconomic indicators and microeconomic conditions are showing gradual positive changes. He expressed optimism that every household would soon experience better living conditions and a brighter outlook.
On security, the President noted that efforts to ensure safety across the nation are yielding results, with significant improvements in the security architecture. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to making Nigeria a hub of prosperity and urged citizens to remain patient and supportive. Tinubu also welcomed constructive criticism as part of fostering progress and unity.
