Mothering Sunday: Engr. Eric Anyamene Felicitates with Idemili Mothers, Highlights Support for Women and Children

By Arthur Maduka

Engr. Eric Nnamdi Anyamene has extended warm greetings to mothers in Idemili North and South Federal Constituency and across Nigeria as Christians mark this year’s Mothering Sunday.

In a statement issued by his media office in Obosi, the philanthropist and community leader congratulated mothers for their enduring role in nurturing families and shaping society. He noted that the day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the sacrifices, resilience, and guidance that mothers bring to the home and, by extension, to the nation.

Engr. Anyamene said the significance of celebrating mothers cannot be overstated, given the central role they play in raising children and building stable families. According to him, the health of any society is closely linked to the strength of its homes, where mothers often serve as the foundation.

“The joy and responsibility of motherhood deserve recognition,” he said. “Women play a defining role in shaping values within families and preparing the next generation for society. Their contributions to the stability and progress of our communities are profound.”

He also used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to initiatives that support women and children through the activities of the Eric Nnamdi Anyamene Foundation (ENAF). Over the years, the foundation has implemented programmes focused on education, welfare support, and other community interventions that directly benefit families within Idemili.

According to him, empowering women and protecting the welfare of children remain essential priorities for sustainable development. “Through our foundation, we will continue to support programmes that improve opportunities for women and create better prospects for children in our communities,” he stated.

Engr. Anyamene further encouraged mothers to continue providing moral guidance and to remain steadfast in their roles as caregivers and mentors within their families.

“As we celebrate Mothering Sunday, we must reflect on the value of the women who hold our families together,” he said. “Motherhood is dignified and sacred, and society must continue to recognise and support the immense responsibilities that come with it.”

He also called on mothers to use the occasion to pray for peace, stability, and progress in Anambra State and Nigeria.

“On behalf of my family and the people of Idemili, I celebrate all mothers today,” he added. “Your dedication to family and community remains a source of strength for our society. Happy Mothering Sunday to all our mothers.”
