Mother, Daughter Beat Father to Death in Delta After Dispute Over Pregnancy
A disturbing case of domestic violence has emerged from Sapele, Delta State, where a young woman identified as Onyinye and her mother allegedly beat her father to death during a heated argument over her second pregnancy out of wedlock.
The incident reportedly took place along Urhobo Road in the Sapele Local Government Area. According to witnesses, the deceased, a commercial tricycle operator, confronted his daughter over her latest pregnancy by a man he had never met. The confrontation quickly escalated, with Onyinye allegedly attacking her father in anger.
Her mother is said to have locked the door to prevent interference and joined her daughter in the assault. The man eventually collapsed, hitting his head on the ground and dying on the spot before neighbours could intervene.
Residents alerted the Police, who arrested both the mother and daughter. However, when contacted for confirmation, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, stated that the case had not yet been officially reported.
