More Governors Set to Join Us, In Places Where We Have Elections APC Will Win – Ganduje
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has confidently declared that more governors across the country are on their way to joining the ruling party. Speaking from his residence in Abuja, Ganduje made the announcement while receiving a group of high-profile defectors from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State.
Among those welcomed into the APC were Senator Kawu Sumaila and the immediate past Secretary to the Kano State Government, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi. Ganduje praised their decision to join the party, citing it as a sign of growing national support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration’s economic and political reforms.
“In APC, we believe in our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we believe in his economic reforms, we believe in his Renewed Hope Agenda,” Ganduje said. “Part of this agenda is to bring more followers into the party through democratic means, dialogue, and strategic engagement.”
He pointed to recent political shifts, including the defection of the Edo State governor from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, and highlighted the similar development in Delta State. According to him, the governor of Delta, his entire cabinet, members of the state assembly, House of Representatives, and key PDP figures including a former vice presidential candidate have now joined the APC.
Ganduje expressed strong confidence in the APC’s trajectory ahead of the next general elections. “We are expanding. I don’t want to reveal our secret but what I’m telling you is that for APC, 2027 is a done deal.”
When asked to confirm reports of more governors defecting to the APC, Ganduje replied without hesitation: “Yes, more governors are coming into APC, I assure you. And in places where we have elections, APC insha’Allah will win those elections.”
