Minister Dave Umahi Asserts: “Only God, President Tinubu Can Cancel My Instructions”

In a recent meeting held at the Ministry of Works headquarters in Abuja, Minister Dave Umahi made a resolute declaration, emphasizing that only President Bola Tinubu and the divine can overturn his directives. The discussion centered around the controversial issue of the speculated N9,000 cement price in connection to government-conducted concrete road projects.

In the midst of growing concerns and speculations regarding the potential skyrocketing of cement prices to an astounding N9,000 per bag, Minister Dave Umahi staunchly defended his position during a meeting with contractors representing the six geopolitical zones.

Addressing the assembly, Umahi vehemently asserted, “This is my line of instructions, and I will faithfully execute whatever directives the President provides. He and God are the sole authorities capable of overturning my instructions. So, I implore you not to waste your efforts reporting me to anyone else besides these two.”

The Minister went on to dismiss the rumors surrounding the dramatic increase in cement prices as a part of a concerted effort by influential figures within the construction industry to undermine his position. He further reinforced his commitment to adhering to the President’s guidance, irrespective of any attempts at blackmail or the spread of false information.

Minister Umahi concluded by affirming, “No matter the amount of blackmail and lies, it will not prevail,” assuring contractors and stakeholders of his unwavering dedication to executing his responsibilities in accordance with the President’s directives. The matter remains one of paramount importance as Nigeria continues to address critical infrastructure needs and challenges.
