Man Arrested in Obosi Over Online Threat Against Police
Police in Anambra State have apprehended a man connected to a viral online video in which he allegedly threatened violence and vowed to destroy police facilities in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as Oluchukwu Anyaoku, was arrested after officers from the Obosi Division intercepted the video on December 2, 2025. A statement from the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the suspect was traced, taken into custody, and questioned. Officers also recovered a firearm and a cutlass from his possession.
Preliminary observations suggest the suspect may require professional medical evaluation, and authorities are following proper procedures. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a thorough investigation and review of all information gathered so far.
