Major Drug Cartel Busted in Delhi, Four Nigerian Students from Influential Family Arrested, Narcotics Worth Rs 27 Crore Seized
India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in collaboration with Delhi Police, dismantled a major drug cartel and seized narcotics worth millions. The raid, conducted on March 31, 2025, in the Chattarpur area of Delhi, led to the arrest of five individuals, including four foreign students from an influential Nigerian family.
The operation uncovered a massive stash of drugs, including MDMA, high-quality crystal meth, and Afghan heroin, with an estimated market value of Rs 27 crore. Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the joint efforts of the agencies, reaffirming the government’s commitment to combating the illegal drug trade.
According to officials, the NCB and Delhi Police’s Special Cell traced the drugs to a rented accommodation, where MDMA was being synthesized. The authorities intercepted a vehicle carrying 5.103 kg of crystal methamphetamine, valued at Rs 10.2 crore, following a tip-off about a high-quality methamphetamine deal in the Chattarpur area.
Further investigation led the authorities to an ‘African Kitchen’ in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, which was identified as the source of the drugs. The authorities recovered 1.156 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 4.142 kg of Afghan heroin, and 5.776 kg of MDMA from this location.
A follow-up search in Greater Noida led to the recovery of 389 grams of Afghan heroin and 26 grams of cocaine from a rented apartment. Officials revealed that the arrested individuals are students from private universities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Punjab. In addition to drug trafficking, the accused are suspected to have links to cryptocurrency trade.
