Lovers Found Dead in Ondo

A middle-aged man, identified as Eric, and his yet-to-be-identified girlfriend were found dead on Saturday in Eric’s apartment in the Ayeyemi area of Ondo City.

The couple’s bodies were discovered after Eric’s relatives, unable to reach him by phone, went to his residence. Looking through the window, they saw the couple’s lifeless bodies and broke down the door to gain access.

Local residents and neighbors speculated that the tragedy might have been caused by electrocution. Reports suggest the couple had been using a generator and charging a phone on a socket placed on the bed. It is believed that the woman’s chain might have made contact with the socket, leading to the fatal incident.

Confirming the incident, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, stated that the couple had been in a relationship for about two years, with both families aware of their union. The bodies have been transported to a nearby hospital morgue.
