Laying Hands, Not Blame: Fani-Kayode Goes Full Pentecostal in Abuja

Former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode was recently seen preaching and praying at the Faith Hill Prophetic Assembly in Piwoyi, Abuja, during a thanksgiving service that drew attention across social media. A video from the event shows Fani-Kayode sharing his personal testimony, delivering a sermon from the altar, and laying hands on worshippers in prayer.

Speaking passionately, Fani-Kayode encouraged the congregation to embrace forgiveness over hatred, stressing the importance of enemies in the fulfillment of one’s divine purpose. He illustrated his message with biblical examples of betrayal and destiny, referencing the stories of Jesus, Joseph, and Samson.

“Everything happens for a purpose,” he said. “Never hate your enemies because you cannot achieve your destiny without them. What is meant for evil, God intends for good.”

He went on to recount how betrayal led to transformation in the lives of key biblical figures. “Without betrayal, Jesus would not have fulfilled His purpose. Joseph would not have become a governor without his brothers and Potiphar’s wife. Without Delilah, Samson would not have defeated the Philistines.”

Fani-Kayode continued by highlighting David’s rise from humble beginnings to victory over Goliath, drawing lessons on faith, courage, and divine preparation. He described how David, dismissed even by his own family, chose to confront Goliath armed not with weapons but with the word of God.

“When Goliath saw him, he said, ‘Am I a dog that you’ve sent this small boy to fight me?’ But David declared, ‘I come before you with the words of God, and I shall slay you.’ And that’s exactly what happened.”

The sermon left a visible impact on the congregation, with worshippers visibly moved during the former minister’s ministration.
