The Lagos State People’s Democratic Party PDP ably led by Engr Adedeji Doherty has come out in strong terms to condemn comments made by Joe Igbokwe, an All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart blaming the PDP for the current woes in the country.
You would recall that, Joe Igbokwe had gone on social media to allege that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was bankrolling Mr Macaroni for his recent actions, while also stating that PDP have a hand in all the happenings nationwide.
Igbokwe had said that “Take it or leave it, there is PDP’s hands and connections in all the infractions in the land. Banditry in the North, IPOB in the south east, EndSars protests, Sunday Igboho in Oyo. All are PDP projects to get power through the back door. And they are failing left and right”.
In a released statement, Engr Doherty stated that Joe Igbokwe’s statements are not only diversionary and unguarded, but also lacking merit.
He stated that, it is evident to all and sundry, that the APC led government at the centre and in Lagos State have failed everyone.
He said “the entire country has collapsed under the watch of the APC led government”.
He postulated that, “We all know that it is the stock in trade of the APC to always try to shift blames to cover up it’s failures and inefficiencies”.
He also stated that Joe Igbokwe’s assertions on Mr Macaroni collecting money from Atiku are also not only “childish” but “sheepish”.
He stated that Mr Macaroni was within his rights as a citizen of Nigeria to protest against a government that seems to be insensitive and uncaring.
He said “A government, that would prefer to open up for business, a tollgate, that was shut as a result of the shooting of its citizens, even before the conclusion of proceedings of the judicial panel it set up to look into the occurrences, should be protested against”.
Engr Doherty, however implored Igbokwe to channel his comments at advising “his masters” on how to ameliorate the sufferings of the citizens, rather than adopting these diversionary tactics.
