Lagos PDP Chairman Doherty launches Covid19 support mission for Lagosians
In response to the current Covid19 lockdown in Lagos and the complaints flooding the media space about the politicization of the distribution of relief materials by the state and Federal governments to only members of the APC, the Lagos state PDP chairman Adedeji Doherty has launched an appeal for members to contribute food items, sanitizers and other crucial supplies so that they can be distributed in Lagos.
Doherty in a message sent out said:
Hello Everyone! I believe our goal on this platform is to distribute any kind of food item to the most vulnerable in Lagos State including our members in need at this very trying time. That’s our goal!. On this note we are buying as many cartons of Honeywell noodles as we can possibly buy towards our state distribution outreach program led by my humble self. The cost is N1,500/carton.
Below is the account details of the Honeywell account you can pay to. Please include DOHERTY COVID19 ON THE PAYMENT ADVICE AND FORWARD TO ME EITHER ON THIS PLATFORM OR PERSONALLY, Thank you and God bless.
Honeywell Flour Mills Plc
Act# Fidelity Bank 4011090051
He said the donations would be used to support members who may have been excluded from the government relief efforts but was open to anyone who was in need of food or supplies even APC members. Doherty said that it was his hope and wish that this token gesture would be replicated across the country especially in states where PDP does not have governors.
Within a few minutes of raising this appeal? Over N500,000 was donated to suppliers for food items. Two hours later a truck from Honeywell Flour Mills was seen offloading cartons of noodles.
Doherty said the plan was to continue this throughout the period of the pandemic and called on all party sympathisers and members to continue to support in anyway they can.
