The People’s Democratic Party PDP Lagos State Chapter ably led by Engr Adedeji Doherty has called on the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to wade into the disturbing information and actions emanating from Kosofe Market in Kosofe Local Government Area of the state.

It would be recalled, that some prominent leaders in the Kosofe Market had come out to pledge their loyalty and support for the People’s Democratic Party and had vowed to mobilize massively in support of the two candidates of the party in the forthcoming bye elections.

Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi (BOG) would be vying for the vacant Lagos East Senatorial District seat, while Hon Ademola Alebiosu would be contesting for the Kosofe Constituency II House of Assembly elections.

Some of the disturbing information and action, allegedly championed by the APC, have it that one of the leaders in the market has been suspended for 3months and his life threatened for campaigning for PDP in the market.

In a response to this action by APC, Hon Alebiosu has come out to condemn the action, describing it as barbaric and against the Nigerian Constitution that preaches freedom of association.

In a related response, Engr Adedeji Doherty also called the alleged action by APC as unlawful.

He however, called on Governor Sanwo-Olu to intervene into this unlawful action.

He reminded the Governor that he should realise that he should be the Governor of everyone in the state irrespective of Political leanings.

He further stated that the Governor should be seen as an advocate of religious and ethnic tolerance, who stands for Justice, equity and fairness.

He implored the Governor to standby the dictates of the Nigerian Constitution which he swore to uphold.

Engr Doherty however assured that irrespective of the tricks and tactics of the APC in the forthcoming elections, the PDP would still prevail.
