Lagos Nurse Arrested After Fatal BBL Procedure Leaves Woman Dead
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a nurse in connection with the death of a 36-year-old woman, identified only as Abiola, following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.
The arrest was made after a report was filed by the deceased’s driver at the Maroko Police Division. The driver disclosed that around 3:00 a.m. on Monday, he was instructed by Abiola, who resided in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo-Lekki, to take her to a clinic in Lekki Phase 1 for a BBL injection aimed at enhancing her buttocks.
According to police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, upon arriving at the clinic, the facility’s owner directed a nurse to administer the injection. Shortly after the procedure, Abiola became unconscious and began gasping for air.
Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was rushed to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Following the report, detectives visited the scene and the clinic. The woman’s body was examined, photographed, and subsequently transferred to a public morgue for an autopsy.
The nurse involved in the procedure has been taken into custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Abiola’s tragic death.
