Lagos Assembly Impeaches Speaker Mudashiru Obasa
The Lagos State House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, amid allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement.
The impeachment, which took place on Monday, followed accusations that Obasa authorized the spending of N17 billion on constructing a gate for the Assembly complex, a figure widely criticized as excessive and potentially fraudulent.
