Kogi Poll: More Troubles For Bello, As APC Forum Rejects His Candidature
Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello’s hopes of securing a second term in office at the weekend suffered a setback as Kogi state APC aspirants forum rejected his candidature.
The forum in a communique issued after a meeting held on Saturday in Abuja said the decision to reject Bello was on account of his bad performance in office. In his stead, Mr. Yahaya Audu, the brother to former Kogi state governor Abubakar Audu was unanimously endorsed to contest the governorship election.
The communique was jointly signed by the chairman, Mr. Ben Adaji and the Secretary, Mr. Anthony Oye.

Communique issued by APC aspirants forum, Kogi State chapter on lingering governorship crisis in Kogi held in Abuja on Saturday, May 18, 2019
After an extensive deliberations, the forum unanimously resolved as follows:
That the forum declare her unalloyed support and commitment for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
That the forum unanimously reject the candidature of governor Yahaya Bello to run for a second term due to bad leadership and Non-performance.
That the forum appealed to the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC not to risk the forthcoming Governorship ticket of the party to Governor Yahaya Bello as this means losing Kogi State to opposition party.
That in spite of the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari to all APC governors to reconcile and accommodate all APC aspirants after the last primaries elections with the view to carrying them along in the overall interest of the party, governor Bello has remain adamant and continue to treat Kogi aspirants as enemy and second class citizens in a party they labored for.
The forum also resolve to mobilise her supporters across the 21 local government areas of the state to support one of theirs to contest the forthcoming APC primaries and the subsequent governorship elections in Kogi.
That after serious debate the forum nominated three of her members, Namely: Alhaji Yahaya Audu, Dr. Chief Adedoyin Ibikunle and Dr. Tonyin Akanle for the contest.
That at the end of deliberations, Alhaji Yahaya Audu was unanimously endorsed by the forum to contest for the forthcoming Governorship election in Kogi State.
