Key Goalkeeper Nwabali Given Green Light to Play Against Angola in AFCON 2023 Quarterfinals
Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has received clearance to participate in the upcoming clash against Angola, according to a reports.
Initially in doubt due to a mild ligament injury sustained during the Round of 16 victory over Cameroon, the Chippa United shot-stopper, at 27 years old, has now fully recovered.
Nwabali showcased his readiness by participating in a complete training session with his teammates at the Police College, Cocody, Abidjan, on Wednesday night.
Having conceded just once in four appearances during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, Nwabali’s return to the lineup will be a crucial asset for the Super Eagles.
The highly anticipated quarter-final clash against the Black Antelopes is set to take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, promising an intense battle on Friday.
