Kano Censorship Board Orders Suspension of Entertainment Activities During Ramadan
The Kano State Censorship Board has ordered the suspension of entertainment activities across Kano State for the duration of Ramadan 1447 AH.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the board directed nightclubs, bars, lounges, event centres and DJs to halt operations until the end of the fasting period.
The directive also covers music events, live performances, parties and other related gatherings during the holy month.
According to the board, the decision is intended to uphold the sanctity of Ramadan and encourage spiritual devotion in line with the state’s religious and cultural values.
Operators of affected businesses have been advised to comply with the order. The board warned that failure to adhere to the directive could result in sanctions.
The suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in force until Ramadan concludes.
