Kalu Aja: “Tinubu’s Error Was Not Revealing the Empty Treasury He Inherited from Buhari”
In a recent statement, financial analyst and educator Kalu Aja has criticized President Bola Tinubu for not addressing the state of the economy earlier. According to Aja, Tinubu’s major misstep was his failure to publicly acknowledge the dire economic situation and the empty treasury he inherited from former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Aja, posting on his X account on Friday, claimed that Buhari left no financial resources behind, describing the situation as having “nothing left, not even a kobo.” He suggested that Tinubu was aware of the economic challenges but chose to remain silent to avoid causing further instability.
Aja elaborated, “Tinubu’s error was not stating early on that he inherited a dead economy with an empty treasury. Buhari left nothing behind, not a kobo. BAT knew things were wrong, but he stayed silent to avoid rocking the boat. Buhari printed N22 trillion and instructed BAT to repay it amidst low oil production. Instead of addressing this issue, BAT began to believe his own optimistic projections.”
