JUST IN: UNIZIK Elects New Acting Vice-Chancellor
Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has elected Professor Nkemdili Austin Nnonyelu as its new Acting Vice-Chancellor following a competitive election process. Professor Nnonyelu secured 132 votes, outpacing other candidates to assume the interim leadership of the institution.
He takes over from Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, who stepped down to participate in the contest for the substantive Vice-Chancellor position in accordance with Ministry of Education guidelines.
An indigene of Awka, Professor Nnonyelu is a seasoned academic with expertise in Sociology and Anthropology within the Faculty of Social Sciences at UNIZIK. He has made notable contributions to the fields of industrial sociology and industrial relations.
