JUST IN: Two Catholic Nuns Kidnapped in Anambra
The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, have announced the kidnapping of two nuns, Sr. Vincentia Maria Nwankwo and Sr. Grace Mariette Okoli, in Anambra State, Nigeria. The incident occurred on the evening of January 7, 2025, along Ufuma Road as the sisters were returning from a vocational meeting in Ogboji.
Sr. Vincentia Maria serves as the Principal of Archbishop Charles Heerey Memorial Model Secondary School, Ufuma, while Sr. Grace Mariette is a teacher at Immaculata Girls Model Secondary School, Nnewi.
The congregation has expressed deep concern over their safety and has called for fervent prayers for their swift and unconditional release. The public is urged to join in praying for the safe return of the two sisters, who are deeply cherished members of the community.
