JUST IN: Tire Explosion at Airport Kills Two, Injures One
A tragic incident at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport claimed the lives of two workers and left another injured on Tuesday. The accident occurred at the Delta Air Lines operations facility when a tire exploded during its removal from an aircraft.
According to reports, one Delta Air Lines employee and a contractor were killed in the explosion. A second Delta employee sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. The aircraft involved had arrived from Las Vegas on Sunday, as reported by WSB-TV.
Delta Air Lines has yet to officially confirm details of the incident, according to Reuters. The cause of the tire explosion remains under investigation.
