(JUST IN) Tinubunomics: Inflation Drops to 23.18% in February — NBS
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has announced a drop in Nigeria’s headline inflation rate to 23.18% in February 2025, down from 24.48% recorded in January. This marks a 1.30 percentage point decline month-on-month, according to the agency’s latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released Monday.
The report also highlighted a notable year-on-year improvement, with February 2025 inflation falling by 8.52 percentage points from the 31.70% recorded in the same month last year. While the figures are calculated using the revised base year of November 2009 = 100, the data signals a relative easing in inflationary pressure compared to previous months.
On a month-on-month basis, the inflation rate stood at 2.04% in February.
