JUST IN: PSC Approves Promotion of 66 Senior Police Officers – Full List

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 66 senior officers across various ranks in the Nigeria Police Force. The decision was made on Monday, March 17, 2025, following a plenary session where the officers were examined and interviewed by the Commission.

Twenty Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), while 19 Deputy Commissioners of Police advanced to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP). The PSC also elevated 13 Superintendents of Police to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), and 14 Deputy Superintendents to Superintendents of Police (SP).

All promoted officers appeared before the Commission and were evaluated through an interactive interview and examination process. The session was presided over by PSC Chairman, retired DIG Hashimu Argungu, supported by retired DIG Taiwo Lakanu and Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission.
