JUST IN: Senator Monday Okpebholo Wins APC Governorship Rerun Primaries in Edo
Senator Monday Okpebholo has secured the top spot in the Edo All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election. The announcement came from Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River, who presided over the Edo APC shadow poll.
Following meticulous collation of results from the 18 local government areas, Okpebholo emerged as the clear winner with a commanding 12,433 votes, surpassing his closest competitor, Dennis Idahosa, who garnered 6,541 votes.
The momentous occasion unfolded at Lushville Hotel and Suites, located on Gapiona Avenue in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Benin, where the collation and official declaration took place. Senator Okpebholo’s triumph sets the stage for an exciting journey toward the governorship as the APC’s chosen candidate in Edo.
