JUST IN: Presidency Addresses Rumors on Akume’s Alleged Resignation
By Arthur Maduka
The Presidency has responded to circulating rumors that Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Dr. George Akume, has resigned or been replaced. In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the Presidency clarified that there has been no change in Akume’s status and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments.
Describing the reports as fake news fabricated by agents of mischief, the statement urged Nigerians to disregard the information and assured the public that Akume remains actively serving as SGF.
