JUST IN: Peter Obi Directs Supporters to Back Barr. Donald Amamgbo, Other ADC Candidates in Saturday’s Bye-Elections
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has directed his supporters to vote for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming August 16, 2025 bye-elections. Obi made the announcement on his verified Twitter handle after attending a campaign rally for Barrister Donald Amamgbo, the ADC candidate for the Anambra South Senatorial bye-election.
The bye-elections will take place in 16 states, covering two senatorial seats, five House of Representatives seats, and nine State Assembly constituencies. Obi noted that the Labour Party has no recognised candidates in the elections due to internal disputes, and therefore urged members of the Obidient and COPDEM movements to support the ADC candidates in their respective areas.
“The struggle for Nigeria has started. Thank you,” Obi concluded, framing the directive as part of his continued engagement in Nigeria’s political landscape.
