JUST IN: Nollywood Icon Amaechi Muonagor Passes Away at 61
The Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, mourns the loss of one of its legendary actors, Amaechi Muonagor, who passed away today at the age of 61.
Reports indicate that Muonagor succumbed to complications arising from kidney-related issues, diabetes, and a prior stroke. In 2023, he suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed, specifically affecting his left leg. Since then, he had been undergoing weekly dialysis and physiotherapy to address the aftermath of the stroke.
Tragically, Muonagor’s demise comes shortly after he made a public plea for financial assistance on social media to fund a kidney transplant, underscoring the financial challenges he faced in his final days.
Throughout his illustrious career, Muonagor graced the screens with his talent, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. He appeared in numerous Nigerian movies, earning acclaim for his role in the popular film “Aki and Paw Paw,” where he portrayed the father of two mischievous young boys.
He leaves behind his wife, Hope Chikodi Muonagor, and their children, as well as a legion of grieving fans who have taken to various platforms to express their sorrow over his passing.
