JUST IN: NLC, TUC in Crucial Talks with Federal Government Over Fuel Prices, Economic Issues
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) are currently in high-level discussions with representatives of the Federal Government. The meeting, which is focused on pressing national concerns, particularly the rising cost of petrol and its impact on the economy, is being held at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.
According to reliable sources, the negotiations are aimed at addressing the growing discontent over fuel prices and other economic challenges that have worsened since the removal of the fuel subsidy.
Present at the meeting are key government officials, including National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Labour Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and Information Minister Mohammed Idris. Also in attendance are Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum, and representatives from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited.
