JUST IN: Nigerian Defence Headquarters Declares Eight Suspected Killers of 17 Soldiers in Delta State Wanted
The Defence Headquarters has declared eight individuals wanted following the tragic killing of 17 military personnel in Delta State. The announcement was made through an official circular posted on the Nigerian army’s X handle on Thursday.
The incident, which occurred in the Okuama Community, shook the nation as suspected residents ambushed and murdered the Commanding Officer of 181 Army Amphibious Battalion, along with two majors, one captain, and 13 soldiers. These brave soldiers were responding to a distress call stemming from a clash between Okuama and Okoloba communities in the South-southern state.
The wanted suspects, as listed in the circular, include Ekpekpo Arthur, a professor, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (known as Amagben), and Akata Malawa David. Also sought are Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Ogenerukeywe, Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi, the sole female among the wanted individuals.
The military’s declaration underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating the heinous attack, as efforts intensify to bring the perpetrators to justice.
