JUST IN: Nigerian Ambassador to Morocco is Dead

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Morocco, Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, known for his prestigious title of Magajin Garin Zazzau and being the biological younger brother of the Emir of Zazzau, has sadly passed away at the young age of 42.

This sorrowful incident unfolded while he was in transit to Morocco, as Ambassador Bamalli breathed his last at a private hospital in Lagos. The Zazzau emirate council’s media and publicity officer released an official statement confirming his untimely demise. Funeral arrangements for the esteemed diplomat are expected to be announced in the near future.

It is worth noting that the late Ambassador Bamalli had been appointed to his position just a year ago by former President Muhammadu Buhari. This appointment was a testament to his decades of dedicated and meritorious service in the Nigerian Foreign Service. Before his ambassadorial role, he had served as a deputy director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, demonstrating a deep commitment to Nigeria’s diplomatic efforts.

This tragic news follows a backdrop of challenges faced by Nigeria’s foreign ambassadors who were recalled from over 300 foreign missions. Many of these diplomats have encountered logistical hurdles, including delays in obtaining the Authority to Incur Expenditures (AIEs) for their return travel to their home country. The passing of Ambassador Bamalli serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices and challenges that diplomats face in their line of duty, and his legacy will undoubtedly be remembered with great respect and admiration.
