JUST IN: Israel Strikes Iran in Pre-Emptive Operation, Emergency Declared

Israel has launched a missile strike against Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced the operation on Saturday morning, describing it as a necessary action to neutralize threats to the country. He declared a nationwide state of emergency, warning of possible retaliatory attacks from Iran, including missiles and drones targeting Israeli civilians.

The Israel Defense Forces activated alerts across the country, with sirens and mobile notifications advising residents to remain close to shelters. The Home Front Command suspended schools, public gatherings, and non-essential workplaces, allowing only critical sectors to operate. Officials emphasized that the measures are precautionary, aimed at preparing civilians for potential incoming attacks.

In Tehran, explosions were reported in central areas, particularly near the Republic district. Iranian media, including the Fars News Agency, reported multiple missile impacts, though details on targets, damage, and casualties remain limited and unverified. Iranian state television confirmed the explosions but did not provide further specifics or assign responsibility.

The situation continues to develop as both countries maintain high alert, with the international community closely monitoring the potential for further escalation.
