JUST IN: Imo Governorship Dispute: Supreme Court Throws Out Ihedioha’s Application, Penalizes Ozekhome N40 Million
The Supreme Court has decisively dismissed Emeka Ihedioha’s application, filed under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), seeking a certificate of return as the legitimate Governor of Imo State. The court, led by Justice Tijjani Abubakar, ruled on Tuesday that Governor Hope Uzodinma was not qualified to contest in the initial election.
The apex court declared the application as lacking in merit, deeming it unnecessary and vexatious. As a consequence, a substantial cost of N40 million has been imposed against Mike Ozekhome for initiating the legal proceedings.
