JUST IN: Immigration Confirms Arrest of Bobrisky While Attempting to Flee Nigeria
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of popular crossdresser and social media influencer Bobrisky at the Seme border while allegedly attempting to leave the country.
In an official statement released on Monday evening, the NIS reported that Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, commonly known as Bobrisky, was apprehended as part of the agency’s efforts to maintain border security. The NIS described the influencer as a “person of interest” in connection with recent public concerns.
“Bobrisky is currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action,” the statement read. The NIS emphasized its commitment to professionalism while executing its duties.
The arrest comes amid an ongoing investigation involving Bobrisky by a House of Representatives committee, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the NIS, focusing on bribery allegations. The situation escalated after Bobrisky shared a purported audio recording in which she claimed to have paid N15 million to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against her. Following the release of the recording, Bobrisky labeled it as “fake” and threatened legal action against a social media user known as VeryDarkMan for defamation.
As the investigation continues, further updates will be provided.
