JUST IN: Former Governor’s Son Dies in Fatal Road Accident
Faisal Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, the son of former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has passed away following a road accident along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.
A close family source confirmed the incident, revealing that the accident occurred on Saturday evening. Faisal was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His father, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was present at the hospital when his son’s death was confirmed. The body has since been taken home for funeral arrangements.
Faisal, a civil engineer by profession, had a distinguished academic background, attending Kaduna International School, Adesoye College in Offa, and the University of Greenwich in London, where he completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees. He was pursuing a PhD at the same university at the time of his death.
This heartbreaking incident follows another tragedy involving a prominent Nigerian family. On Friday, Fatima, the 23-year-old daughter of the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), passed away in Abuja after a brief illness. She was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
As of the time of filing this report, former Governor Makarfi had not made any public comments regarding the tragic loss of his son.
