JUST IN: Fire Erupts on Lagos Blue Line Rail Track
A minor fire broke out today on the Lagos Blue Line rail track near the NEPA station by Eko Bridge in the Apogbon area of Lagos. The incident occurred around 4:12 pm on Saturday, as confirmed by Gboyega Akosile, spokesperson for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Akosile stated that no injuries were reported, and fortunately, no train services were active at the time. Emergency responders and safety teams were dispatched swiftly, containing and extinguishing the fire without incident.
“Lagosians in that area can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control,” Akosile assured in a post on X, noting that the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) will provide any further updates on Blue Line train operations as needed.
