JUST IN: Edo Governor Okpebholo Dissolves Agency Boards, Sacks Political Appointees

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo has announced the immediate dissolution of all boards across state agencies and parastatals, alongside the termination of positions for non-civil service political appointees. This sweeping action, made public through a statement by Chief Press Secretary Fred Itua, marks a major restructuring in the state’s governance.

The directive mandates that all affected officials and appointees surrender any government properties in their possession to the highest-ranking public servants within their respective agencies and departments. Additionally, the statement clarified that permanent secretaries who were appointed from outside the state’s civil service framework are also relieved of their duties.

Governor Okpebholo’s administration states that the decision is aimed at streamlining government operations and aligning agency leadership more closely with the state’s evolving priorities.
