JUST IN: DSS Arrests Notorious Oyo Transport Union Leader, “Auxiliary,” Once Again
The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended the infamous transport union leader, Mukaila Lamidi, commonly known as Auxiliary, after a decade-long respite from his previous arrest.
Sources close to the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, disclosed that Auxiliary, formerly the head of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), was taken into custody by DSS operatives on Tuesday afternoon.
Auxiliary’s arrest evokes memories of a similar incident ten years ago during the tenure of the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi. Back then, he was detained by the Ajimobi administration in 2014 and subsequently imprisoned in 2016, only to be released in 2018 towards the end of the administration.
The recent fallout between Auxiliary and the current administration of Governor Seyi Makinde escalated in May 2023, stemming from clashes with officials of the state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
