JUST IN: Appeal Court Affirms Abdullahi Sule as Nasarawa Governor, Sets Aside Tribunal Judgment
The Appeal Court in Abuja has upheld the election victory of Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule. This verdict overturns the October 2 decision by the Nasarawa State Election Petitions Tribunal, which had ousted Governor Sule and declared David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful winner.
The three-member panel delivering the judgment asserted that the tribunal had committed a legal error in its determination that Sule did not secure the majority of votes in the election.
