JUST IN: New Terror Group ‘Wulowulo’ Linked to Boko Haram Emerges in North-Central Nigeria

A new terrorist organisation known as Wulowulo has reportedly emerged in North-Central Nigeria, sparking fresh security concerns across the region. Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State raised the alarm during an expanded security meeting in Lafia, warning that intelligence reports have linked Wulowulo to Boko Haram as a splinter faction.

Governor Sule highlighted that the group has begun to establish a presence in parts of the North-Central zone, particularly in Kwara State, describing the development as deeply troubling. He stressed the importance of proactive measures to prevent the group’s infiltration into Nasarawa State.

The governor also pointed to the Lakurawa group, originally based in Kebbi and Sokoto states, noting its growing prominence in Kwara and expressing concern about its potential spread to neighbouring states.

In addition to the terror threat, Governor Sule ordered a full-scale investigation into recent killings in Kokona Local Government Area. Seven people were reportedly killed in Ndama village following a land dispute between the Mada and Ninzom communities. The governor directed the Commissioner of Police and the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) to launch a thorough probe and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Governor Sule further expressed concern over a rising wave of abductions in Lafia and Karu local government areas, urging security agencies to intensify surveillance and adopt new strategies to address the growing menace of kidnappings in the state.
