Joint Security Team Arrests Two Armed Robbers, Declares Gang Leader “Akada” Wanted in Anambra
On November 25, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m., a joint security team comprising Anambra Police and Vigilante operatives successfully dismantled a notorious criminal gang in Nkwelle-Ezunaka, specifically in the 3-3 area. During the operation, two armed suspects were apprehended, while another suspect, known as Akada, was declared wanted. The charges against them include armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms, and the enforcement of illegal sit-at-home orders.
The two arrested suspects, Chinedu Amah and Prince Nwogu, both male residents of Nkwelle-Ezunaka, were caught following a pursuit triggered by an alarm raised by a victim. The victim had been held at gunpoint and robbed of his iPhone and other personal items. Authorities recovered an English-made pistol and other incriminating items from the scene.
Both suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime and identified Akada, the gang leader, as the mastermind behind the operation. He remains at large, and efforts are underway to track down other members of the criminal gang.
