Ishaku Loses Senatorial Election As Atiku, Obi Win Additional LGAs In Taraba
Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has lost his senatorial election after collation and announcement of results.
He also failed to win his polling unit and Local government area for the presidential candidate of his party, Atiku Abubakar.
Ishaku who is contesting for Taraba South Senate seat polled 45708 votes while the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, polled 85415 votes to defeat the governor.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP won Takum LGA where Ishaku hails from with 13406 votes while Atiku polled 4890 votes. Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress, APC, had 5944 votes while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, polled 329 votes.
However, Atiku of the PDP won Kurmi LGA after polling 6591 votes while Obi had 5334 votes. Tinubu polled 3226 votes while Kwankwaso polled 73 votes.
