Iran Unleashes Over 100 Drones in Massive Retaliatory Assault on Israel

Iran has launched more than 100 drones toward Israel in a large-scale retaliatory strike, marking a dramatic escalation in regional tensions. The Israeli military confirmed the attack late Saturday, describing it as unprecedented in scale and warning of challenging hours ahead.

“All aerial defense systems have been activated to intercept the threats,” said IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari. “This is unlike anything we’ve experienced before — we are preparing for difficult hours ahead.”

The drone attack comes in response to a series of recent Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian military assets. Among those killed in the strikes was Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, a development that significantly raised the stakes between the two adversaries.

The Israeli operation, dubbed Operation Rising Lion, was characterized by the military as a “pre-emptive, precise, combined offensive based on high-quality intelligence.” In response to the growing threat, Israel has declared a national state of emergency.
