IPOB Issues Christmas Security Advisory for Anambra, Imo Travelers

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a security alert for individuals planning to travel to Anambra and Imo States during the Christmas season. Citing concerns over rising insecurity in the region, the group has uncovered a plot to disrupt the peace but has assured the public of deploying operatives from its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), to safeguard the returnees.

In a statement, IPOB encouraged Biafrans not to be deterred by potential threats and emphasized the importance of adhering to travel advice for a safe journey home. The group recommended informing families and friends about travel plans, specifying routes, and maintaining vigilance throughout the journey.

Specific caution was advised for those traveling along certain routes, with particular attention drawn to areas like Nnewi South, Ihiala – Igboukwu – Orlu road, and the Total filling station at Ihiala junction. IPOB highlighted several roads in Imo and Anambra States, branding them as danger zones due to heightened security risks.

This travel advisory aims to ensure the well-being of individuals returning to their hometowns for the festive season, urging them to exercise caution and stay informed about potential risks on their journey.
