INEC Announces New Date For Kogi and Bayelsa Guber Polls
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced November 16, 2019 as the new date for the Kogi and Bayelsa states gubernatorial polls.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Commission’s Head of Information and Voter Education Committee,Mr. Festus Okoye,the Commission said the shift in date from the initial November 2,2019 was the outcome of its regular weekly meeting held on Thursday where it considered appeals by Bayelsa state government, elders,religious and traditional leaders to move the date because it coincided with the state’s Annual Thanksgiving Day which was backed by the state’s law.
